yellow on leaves
Ok gang, here's a new problem. A few leaves have areas of intense yellow
developing. Suddenly. They don't seem to be drying out or dying (yet) -
just otherwise healthy-looking tissue that is going yellow fast. A few of
the affected leaves seem to have a slightly wilty look around the edges, not
necessarily where the yellow is. And one or two very young leaves are brown
near the tips.
By the way, I've seen magnesium deficiency before which responds to a foliar
epsom salt solution - this looks very different. It's more localized and a
more intense yellow than magnesium deficiency.
It doesn't look like disease - is there some kind of nutrient imbalance that
can do this? I'm pretty sure I have too much nitrogen out there - lots of
females have withered off, plus the new leaves may be a bit too dark. Gotta
watch out for that zoodoo!!
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Beth
P.S. If you need rain, invite Barbara Kincaid over. She just showed up,
did some wacky rain dance, and boom. Almost four inches of rain while she
was here! (George Heyne, you might want to ban Barbara from your patch for
a while.)
