Mark,
Most don't keep pumpkins close in . One reason is it doesn't happen that
often. Two,is as the pumpkin grows will it have enough slack in the vine
to avoid stem stress. Set all you can then evaluate everything pro's and
cons of each pumpkin set. Take measurements at 14...21....days and find
which is growing the best for that fixed amount of time from pollination.
Yes you have plenty of time for a reasonable
pumpkin............................for a first year grower 200lb is
reasonable........................beat that and you've done well!!
Not sure what the hek that crappy situation was with M.P. but absolutely
not most the world record pumpkins are from seed given free,,,,,,I repeat
free.........do not fall for that crap............brock
