My Pumpkin needs advice/help

Hello, I could use a little help.  I went out to look at my pumpkin tonight
and discovered that the vine is split.  The stem coming out of the pumpkin
is fine, but as the stem goes into the vine that is where it is split in
half.  Half is still attached to the stem.

Is their any hope for the pumpkin?  Anything I can do(tape it back
together).
