Squash Vine Borer Question

Hi list -- I know you guys can help with this one. I don't have a pesticide
license and I am trying to find the most effective product to use against
vine borers. I have heard that Scimitar CS is good, but I can't find it in
my area (CT). So here's my question -- I did find a product at Ace Hardware
made by Green Thumb (Tru Serv) called "Tree Fruit Spray". The ingredients
are listed as follows:

Methoxychlor - 12%
Malathion - 6%
Carbaryl - .30%
Captan - 11.24%

The rest is inert stuff. It is a liquid concentrate, and I think it says to
mix 1 tablespoon per/gal for trees. Can I use think on my AG plants?? It
sounds like it should be good since it has the methoxychor and the added
bonus of the captan fungicide. Up until this point I have been using Ortho
Bug-B-Gone and Daconil. It has been very effective so far against stink
bugs and cucumber beetles (have only seen one stink bug and one or two cuc
beetles). The plants look great so far, and but I know how devastating the
vine borers can be. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
