Re: 815 Checkon Vine Splitting
Vines splits are common with the 815 but not to the extent that Tim has. It
is very important to avoid sharp curves or stress on the vines. I have had
stump splits on all 3 of the 815's that I have grown including the first
one that grew the 1190. This seems to be a genetic trait along with the
tendency to have few females on the main vine.
This year we are recrossing it with the Lloyd 935 both ways and also
sibbing it.
It is still my favorite.
