Northwest Patch Tour and BBQ - Update

Hello all, how are things?

The first annual Northwest patch tour is a GO!  It is set for Sunday July
29th, yep, thats next weekend.  For everyone who cannot make it, don't worry,
next year we will schedule it for a different date to avaid conflict with the
grandaddy of them all in Ohio.  But this year it is on the 29th.
Here is the Schedule of events....

9:00  AM  We will all meet at the Hoffmans Dairy Garden.  That seems to be
the consensus for a well known spot to avaid problems with getting hooked up
to start.  There we will divvy up into fewer vehicles to promote the BS about
the patches inbetween stops.  We will Leave Hoffmans around 9:20ish.

10:00 AM  Arrive at Paul Handy's patch and take a look around the mysterious
lead pumpkins he brings to the weighoffs.  Figure on about a half hour for
the look see and then off to Mike Stephensons patch.

11:30 AM  Arrive at Mike's patch and see what all is going on out there in
Beaverton in another veteran patch.  Take a look and head out for stop 3
around noon.

12:30 PM  Arrive at the patch of the Drill's in Wilsonville.  It is there
first year with just a few plants, but an opportunity none the less to get
that enthusiasm (sp?) of new growers.

1:30 PM  Arrive at the patch of the Sherwood's in Mulino.  Jim and Lori are
second year growers coming off a rookie year 730.  Hang out, lie a little,
talk a lot and head off to the Hester patch at about 2:00.

2:30ish  Arrive at the Hester patch, hey thats here, and take a look at all
my secondaries that are breaking off.  Here we will set up for food and even
more talk about pumpkins until we run out of things to talk about or bed time
arrives.

Okay, what to bring.  This will be kind of a potluck dinner.  Please bring
your own drinks, snacks, and things to throw on the BBQ.  I am not too proud
to say we can't feed everyone.  We will have extra food just in case, but hot
dogs may get old to some people.  Also, you may want to bring lawn chairs or
what not to sit on.

This is a new thing, so I am sure it won't run smooth, but hey, it will be
fun and give us a chance to learn new things and confirm our saneness as we
see others as crazy about pumpkins as we are.

If you have any questions, just email me or call.
