Re: pumpkins on secondary vines


The position on the vines are good with nice long stems. I would have to say 
the pumpkin on the main vine has a slight advantage as far as stem length and 
position goes but it is acceptable on the pumpkin on the secondary vine. It 
also has an advantage as far as having a nice uniform long shape but it is 
slower growing then the pumpkin on the secondary vine. I've done the 
measurements every other day. The pumpkin on the secondary vine is growing 
great 20 day OTT of 133 verses 20 day OTT of 100. No tertiary vines have been 
allowed to grow and this particular secondary vine has been terminated about 
5 feet beyond the pumpkin. I'm already down to two pumpkins on this plant.
