flat vine

i have picture on my camera ready to post
(v.soon - that means when i have time!) two out of three main plants seem
to be smaller than the other and affected in this way. I think the other
may also be starting to show signs, think this is going to be a down year for
me. :-(
anyway, my theory is, it's genetic but
extenuated by climatic condition, poor weather = more flat vine - cells
multiplying but no heat to grow proper vines. I don't know really just
stupid, i hope i have something to pollinate by the middle of this
month.
