Mark,
Just tie the "pod" to something off the ground. When the
weather is above 72 deg for a while they will hatch. If you did this they maight
have hatched and run for cover,they are quite small at first. In a few weeks you
may start bumping into them and in Sept you might get spooked by one when
working in the patch. They get several inches long and stare at
you.
