Pyrethin is added to pesticides to cause the insects to become startled,
move around rapidly. It does not kill the bugs, it only causes them to
move around in the other ingredient which is the poison.

Thanks for the tip! I use pyrethrin and the cuke beetles seem to thrive.
Guess I'll have to add rotenone, which is what our fish&game folks use
to kill off the prized species of fish around here (it lets the carp and
the pikeminnows live).
