Subject: Question for weighoff veterans

This question is directed primarily at those who have been competing in weighoffs consistently for many years :

When you harvested your pumpkins for weighoffs, were they still increasing in size? Could they have obtained a greater weight if left on the plant longer? I'm looking for an answer based on the average rather than a year-by-year breakdown.

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike--the season seems just about right here, for the first S
at. in October.

By then the plants are nearly spent and the fruit are down to a pound or two/day,if any growth at all.At that stage a few pounds/day cannot be measured, unless over a week, say a gain of 1" OTT/week would be 1-2 pounds/day.

Cheers--AE
