UNCLE!!

You ever want to just give up? I am starting to get close to that point. No matter what I do I can’t beat the heat. It gets me in more ways than one.

  1. Heat is killing the plants and if I mist in the after noon I get burn from the magnification of the water on the leafs
  2. Weeds because of the heat I couldn’t get out and weed and now they have taken over 2 of my patches. If I go out and try to weed now I will do more harm than good, as I would be like a bull in a China store.
  3. On the Pugh for some reason I can’t get anything to pollinate, after about 10 days everything just shrivels and dies.
  4. I can’t foliar spray because is gets hot so early the spray will burn the plants.

I know I am way ahead last year but I am sure I will top out no more than 500 or so. I think I have settled for that but next year I am only going to have one patch and it will have a screen cover over it like you see in a nursery store. You know it’s hot when the white flies don’t even come out into the patch. I think I will look for work in Washington when I am there. Maybe I can move into pumpkin country.
