Advice



I planted 3 hills, then left for vacation.  Came home yesterday and I have a solid maze of giant leaves and pumpkins from walnut size to muskmelon size.  When should I get rid of all except one per plant?  Should I put something under the pumpkin or let it grow on the ground?  Some of the vines have split open in spots, should I cover the splits with dirt?
