RE: Female Flowers
The flower shows it's color (especially at it's tip) the day before it is
open. 95% of the time there are about three males open to every female. (We
are still talking pumpkins) Basically, you can't force them to have pumpkin
sex...both parties have to be willing.
This seemed to be a hot topic at the OVPGA patch tour and picnic yesterday.
(Which by the way was great!!) Of course I wasn't always sure how much the
topic stayed with pumpkins. I don't mean to pour any salt in any wounds,
but if you missed this event, you missed a great time with friends and
pumpkins. Thanks to all the new growers I met, hope to see you again in the
near future.

HI!! It's me again .
Was wondering how do you know when that female is
going to open ?? Are there any signs...?
What do you do if you have tons of males but none open
? can you force them too? (please control yourselves
on that one :))!! ) Thanks :)
