Cheryl,
I have been going through the same thing all week. I had a bad storm with
tremendous wind damage to the patch. Many leaves were broken and I
noticed the stems were filling with water and rotting (what a smell inside
the stem cavity). I started to trim the leaves off at the vine and what a
gush of water from these things. I mixed up some "Soap Shield" in a spray
bottle and sprayed each wound with this; I also had some bleach mixed in
another bottle in which I was spraying my hands and clippers as to not
spread any fungus or disease. I highly recommend that the damaged leaves
& stems be removed.......or these babies will rot and cause overall plant
damage.

small catastrophy, one of my leaves broke of about half way down on its
stem
so I cut it off. It is on a secondary vine. I cut it of just below where
it broke and noticed a huge amount off water in the stem. Should I just
leave the stem as is or do something else with it. I'm still catching up
on
growing up here in Maine! Cheryl<
