That's the exactly what I am doing this year. Once the leaves are full grown
I plan to take my shade cloth off. And also I don't think temperature
difference has much effect on stem length. At least that has been my experience. Here
in Napa we do not have wide hi And lows temperature range. 50s at night
80's-90's during the day.
