Re: 3 lobes?


As far as i get it right, the number of lobes
have the very dircet impact on the number
of seeds that could possibly come out of a
pumpkin - the more lobes, the more caveties
for the seeds - and the more seeds, the bigger
should the pumpkin be able to get.

I ve read once, that on the tomatos the size of
the fruit increase following the number of seeds
in the fruit - at aproximally a factor 1/3rd - but
only after the first fifty seeds.

you cannot of cause directly compare the tomato and
pumpkin, but it is clear that more seeds need more
support in form of nutrients and water and other
stuff, and that needs mor space than by itself...etc...

but i wouldnt over estimate that effect :-)
