Re: damaged pumpkin


I would dust it with Capton powder and let it air dry. 
Covering it with tape may lead to problems.  Pumpkins will heal
a gash and scar over.  In fact, a commersial grower in Salinas
carves names on pumpkins while they are growing.  The cuts scab
over leaving the permenant names and logos of his customers.
