Hello All,
It is me Sue the first time grower in upper middle Mich. Which is in
Gladwin by the way it is close to Harrison, and houghton Lake. just so I
don't have to keep saying where it is.
Anyway my question is this , I pollinated my first pumpkin on 7/24/03 on
my biggest vine, since then I have pollinated 3 more 2 on biggest plant
and 1 on the next biggest plant.
First let me give you how things are going here weather has been pretty
good high 70's to low 80's during the day an nights have been real cool
low 50's to sometimes high 40's also rain just about every 2 days or so
but not a lot still have to water in between and sometimes same day as it
rains.
ok here is what is going on
Larry my biggest plant
Zack my first pollination 7/24/03 5inch on main vine of plant
7/25 6 1/2
7/27 8
7/28 9
Jyssi 2nd pollination 7/25 4 1/2 inch on main vine
only at opposite end of plant
7/26 5
7/28 6 1/2
Morgan 3rd pollination 7/26 5 inch on main vine a few feet
from Zack
7/28 6
ok now on to Moe my second biggest plant I have one female pollinated
so far on main vine
Mahayla 7/26 4 1/2 inch
7/28 5
So my question is this , are they growing to slowly? and if so what
should I do about it? I need help am afraid non will get much
bigger.
All of my plants look great and are produceing alot of flowers male
and female Except for my smallest plant Curley he is a little slower in
growing and produceing but has started to get males and a couple of
female on him females are not to big yet. I think it is because he
is on the end of the garden and gets a little less sun.
I am just not sure if everything is doing ok or if I need to do something
different.
Thank you
Sue
