GVGO's 2nd Annual Patch Tour
Dear Growers
Here's a chance to see the gardens of some of Ontario's best giant pumpkin &
vegetable growers. All are welcome to attend the GVGO's 2nd Annual Patch
Tour to be held on Sunday Aug. 20th. The tour starts at 9:00 am at the
gardens of John & Chris Lyons (World Record Long Gourd-116 5/8" & PB
Pumpkins of 1130 & 1100#), Phil & Kathy Joynson (PB Pumpkin-Official-988#,
Unofficial-1175#), Wayne Kennedy (PB Pumpkin-1088#), Phil & Jane Hunt (PB
Pumpkin-1011# & PB Watermelon-207.6# Can Record), Norm Craven (PB-Pumpkin
1042# & holder of many records for the other giant varieties). The tour is
free for all GVGO members ($5 for non-members), but there is a $5 charge for
lunch per person. We will be having a BBQ lunch at my house, with ribs &
chicken on the menu. To register, please email me at gvgo@sympatico.ca or
phone me at (705)-887-4835. We really need to know how many people will be
in attendance, so please register early. You can pay your $5 the day of the
tour, so no need to send in any money now. Tour is open to all. We look
forward to seeing you there. Now all I have to do is grow a big pumpkin &
keep my garden weed-free. I wish it were that easy. Email me
