Re: Male blossoms

Who says pollination season is over? Maybe for those who really know what they are doing and have an adequate area for growing. :) Me? I am still trying and learning. This is pretty cool but it can also be frustrating when you see and attempt at pollination abort. Take a person who is new at this (pollinating) then throw near 100 degree temps during the first attempts. Anyway, for those of you who have fruit sets, awesome!
One question though. If i see a female that will open the next morning, is it best to grab any males that look like they will open the next morning too and put them in water or should i just cut them from the vine right when i need them in the morning?

Hi Kathie M--Answer:Yes.

You can remove any blossoms at any stage without causing any problems. In
fact I remove most tendrils too when I am pruning side vines,as I find they
get in the way.

I've been fairly diligent this year about removing spent males from my
vines.
Now that pollination season is over, can I nip incipient males in the bud?
Thanks for whatever serious advice I get!
