Re: pumpkin problem
I was having the same issue (I'm a newbie too). I am from Windsor, Ontario
and we were also experiencing high temp days. In the end I stopped any
fertilizing, put umbrellas up over all fruit as soon as I noticed them,
watered frequently, and maybe most importantly, put buckets (with rigid
cooler ice packs jammed into the bottom) upside down over the fruit (under
the umbrella, so bucket is not like an oven).
Now, in the last 4 days I have pollinated 9 fruit, and they are all looking
really healthy. I wanted them set by the 21 of July, but this is fine). The
first is already 7" around (in 3 days). The first milestone I hope to hit is
20" in 10 days.
So , I guess the motto is, when it rains, it pours. Hope it rains for you.
