I use styrofoam insulating "blue board" used for house construction. It's
about
3/4" thick and waterproof, easy to cut, and is available at the hardware
store.
As your fruit grows, you can add more pieces of this board around the edge.
As others said, you'll need a shade tarp, and that should
keep most of the water of the fruit as well.
