Re: Long split

Rob,
if it is on the pumpkin and didn't get into the cavity..then you have a chance.
If it has allowed air into the pumpkin cavity...it is a goner.? Sorry.
Captan is the right thing to "dry" it up and heal it.

Subject: Long split

All,

I had rain for 40 days and 40 nites. Actually, just a bad storm on Sunday but
one of many. The patch finally is drying. I measured this morning and had no
growth overnight. I am at 103" circ. after 30 days. I pruned a little today,
mostly all the dead leaves and some vines.

I now have a 1.5' long split down the center of my fruit running stem to
blossom. It is in the middle. I patched it with Captan. What are my chances?
Probably not so good.

Thanks,

Rob
