I'm in northeast PA. I still don't have a female flower, and my longest
vine is only about 8 feet. It's been nothing but wet and cold this
year. It's just now starting to warm up to the occasional low 80's.

I saw a pic posted by Organic Gardening magazine of a sad little pepper
plant they're trying to coax along in PA (most of my peppers haven't
even flowered yet). I don't feel so bad now knowing that even the
experts can't outwit crappy weather.

I'm sorry to hear that so many of you are having a terrible pumpkin
year.
What states are you folks in?

I'm a first-timer pumpkin grower in California and of my two vines, one
is a
mutant and the other is gowing hog-wild. This weekend I will be
cutting
off the smaller pumpkins and selecting "the one". I'm noticing that the
ends of my vines are a little yellow lately, although the rest of the
vines look pretty good. Anyone know what causes that? I know that
yellow usually means too much water, but I have been monitoring that
pretty closely.

Any help is appreciated.

JIM
