Thanks.  Got the word from the Vermont master pumpkin grower not to press the
flesh or thump the pumpkin while it's growing, either.  Back to fertilize,
water, weed, and spray--  and think positive thoughts!!!  Steve.

Good Steve! Glad it was No. 2!? In the future, if the spot is soft, you are in
trouble. Also, put your nose to the pumpkin, sometimes you can smell it going
down before you can see it.

Just got a reply from a fellow grower here in Vermont with many years of
experience.  Based on examination of a photo I sent him, the verdict on my
spot is a scar.  I didn't notice it when the AG was small, but now that it's
ballooning, the blemish is very noticeable.  WHEW!!!  Maybe I can breath now
a
little bit, eh?
