Pollination

Hi all, I am fairly new to pollinating my pumpkins. I have 3 plants with
females thatB I was able to hand deliver so to speak. I guess my question is
how long till i know that the pollination has worked. I had 2 a couple weeks
ago and they just kind of rotted off the vine. Also if the do start growing
would anyone recommend using sulfate of potash for a fertilizing strategy ?
