Re: Snapped stems. Fertilizer.

Bummer, Jim. I started to have that problem, got a bag of sand and shored the
AG up AFTER I severed the tap roots in both directions. A lot of praying,
swearing, and sweat went into saving that pumpkin, and I learned that it's
best to put the sand or foamboard or whatever down when the AG is
grapefruit-sized. Steve.

Rats.

The night after I wrote and asked about my pumpkin that was sitting on it's
stem, it decided to roll over on it's own and snap the stem.

I'm now down to two pumpkins, and based on tomorrow's measurements, I'm
going to be down to one.

Who has a good source on liquid fertilizer online? My local stores don't
seem to carry anything any good.

Also - I'm looking for a good fertilizing schedule to get this thing big.
What are you pro's out the doing? How do you apply it, and what are you
using?

Jim
