Shading Pumpkins

I helped to blow my AG last year by not shading it and overdosing on
potassium.  This year I am NOT overdosing on potassium and shading my AGs.  My
question is, in this, my second year of attempting a BIG one, how much shade
is too much shade? How much of the plant can you shade before you flatline
it?  Pumpkin and how many feet around it?  Thanks.  Steve.
