When I am applying anything by spray - neem oil, milk, dawn soap, safer
soap, compost tea - my aim is to wet every leaf as thoroughly as possible.
Since a lot of sprays aren't systemic in nature they must have direct
contact to have an effect. I wouldn't want even one leaf to get powdery
mildew or aphids because it will eventually spread to the rest of the plant.
