Vine Advise

I am having issues with my vines pinning my stem down toward the ground. I
have gone along the vine from the fruit in each direction, cutting the node
roots in order to free the vine. Should I free the downstream end and keep
it loose? I am so afraid of pressuring my stem or breaking my main.

Any advise out there would be great.
