I had great luck with a Shultz Bloom Plus 10-54-10 in combination with
Monty's Joy Juice Root and Bloom. I went from a few males to pollination of
3-4 females on each vine in 6 days. I am now culling 40 or so males off the
vines per day. I put the Shultz right to the stumps and foliar fed the
Monty's. I could not believe the flowers that appeared after these
treatments.
Shultz @ 2 Tsp/gallon
Monty's @ 1/2 Tsp/gallon
Hope this helps you.

I haven't even pollinated yet. Some of my males were aborting along with a
ouple of females. I started using 3-18-18 at someone's suggestion which i
did
ot know about. It will be at least a week before I can even consider
ollination.

Deb,
t is quite normal to have an absorption lag during the heat of the day.
specially on the vine site downstream from your fruit. The problem with
his heat is at night (Krebs Cycle). The plants aren't getting the down time
hey need with hot humid nights. If you can shade them somehow it may help.
hat is a lot of work as you know how big these guys get.

Ok, I was doing what someone suggested. THe vines are getting water from
he
prinkler but I agree about the potential fungus problem. What do you do to
keep the plants cool and prevent heat stress?

Deb,
isting the tops of the leaves in this humid weather is asking for a fungal
isaster. As long as your vines are getting water, they will be fine.

I would like to mist the leaves from the top to help cool them down and help
with flagging during the 90+ days. My next project is a drip system using
VC
ut don't even want to address that until I get the misters figured out.

Soaker hose. T tape. I am as smart as a chimpanzee and they are working like
charm in 100-102 degree weather.

What is a booster pump? I was thinking of filling my rain barrel with
ater,
unning hose from barrel to inline pump to 1/4 inch tubing. I could time
ow
ong it takes to drain the barrel and keep the garden hose running to match
he
low. The other thing is I have another 6 misters around my second plant.
deally I would like to tie these into the first plant for a matter of ease.
The inline pump is 1/2 HP.

You may need a booster pump.

ubject: misters - help
I finished setting up my mister system today. My garden hose puts out
bout 5
to 6 gpm. Out of the 7 misters on the plant, only 2 or 3 work as they are
suppose to, the rest either just drip or have a very small amount coming
ut.
Anybody have any suggestions?
