Re: pumpkins DIGEST V1 #719

I was told that mushroom is one of the best compost to use for gardens. I did
not have another test performed after adding everything. Is there anything I can
do this late in the game? I have given up on installing a drench system since
the plants are too big. From all of the rain we have had, the soil is wet. It
sounds like soil drenching is a possible way of helping the problem, but as I
mentioned in a previous email, I don't even know if that is an option given the
plant sizes, amount of chemicals I would have to add, and the sheer number of
5-gallon buckets I would have to use.

Any ideas?

Debbie

Mushroom compost has really high nitrogen and salt levels which may be causing
it. Did u have a test after all amendments were in? Sounds like too much
nitrogen to me.
