Just Checking In...

Anyone in the Southeastern U.S. (I'm in North Carolina...just minutes from
South Carolina) having any luck? Our temps lately have been mid-90s, which
I know is not good for pumpkin development. We've had very little rain (I
know there's some of you that would love to have some of our dryness). My
plants went in the ground late this year...so currently, there's no real
sprawl yet. But...they're growing and I have lots of males. My females are
all yellowing on me when they're just a day or so from budding. I didn't
set my first pumpkin until the first week in August last year...so, I'm not
worried yet. I need to have a couple hurricanes (like last year), so my
temps will fall back some. The neighbors keep asking how the pumpkins are
doing and all I can do is shrug my shoulders.

Mr. Hancock now has his own webpage. Link to http://www.wbt.com and click
on John Hancock. He's very proud of his webpage. He's even got a couple
pictures of me...for anyone who's interested in seeing the person behind all
these posts. Maybe I can get him to scan in a picture of my patch in a
month or so.

This was a "mild" post for me...I must be tired.
