Last year honey bees were few in my garden, this year they appear to be
totally missing. The only pumpkins and watermelons that I can tell have
set are the ones I have hand pollinated. I wonder if their numbers will
ever recover? Where are the other pollinators like solitary bees,
etc.? We did have a very hard winter in South Dakota last year but it
really is sad to think that honey bees may be a thing of the past.

The same thing happened in New England over the last few years with the
population hitting bottom last year. Good news is they are starting to
re-appear this year and all other Bee have increased. As to Atlantic Giants
I would rather depend on hand pollination.
