I would just like to express my thanks to the Great Pumpkin God
above. The night before last, a storm ripped through my patch. Winds
were clocked at 115 km/h at the airport across the road. Trees on the
perimeter of the patch were toppled and torn apart, airplanes were
flipped, and mid-sized hail was reported only 500 metres from my
plants. But guess what.... very minimal damage to my 3 "chosen"
pumpkin plants. The 3 plants that have their vines buried weathered
the storm beautifully (considering what they have been through). The
two plants that I have not been paying attention to are a mess. One
of them was almost totally up-rooted and the other is twisted into an
unrecognizable ball. The plants with the buried vines only had a few
leaves broken off.
Again,..... praises to the great pumpkin god!
(I think I will call her Shirley...?)
