2nd year grower

Hello all,

It's been a while since I have written you all mainly due to the fact
that Iwas on summer break. Things in the patch have really changed
since the last time I have written. I have 1 P&P 800+ that is really
looking good. It measures 23' by 26' in ground coverage, has about 10
baseball to small cantelope sized fruits growing on it, and it was
planted may 17th. I also have another 800+ that is about 22' by 21' and
a Swain 430 that measures about 18'-23'. I am kinda excited and a
little bewildered since I have never had a plant this big. So far I
have't seen any sign of disease or vine borers(keeping my fingers
crossed). I have read quite a bit about growing the large ones and am
trying to put the knowlege to good use. But I still can't shake the
feeling that I'm doing something wrong. If anyone would like to share
some advice or knowlwdge that a 2nd year grower may need please send
it. Any advice would be greatly apreciated. What I'm most concerned
about is ,how much(18-19-30) fertilizer should I use, how to tell which
pumpkin to keep and which to cull, and vine sprawl control(how much is
to much vine). Also Is it a bad thing to keep a fruit on a secondary
vine rather than on the main even if it is out growing the one on the
main vine?

Thanks,John
