Well, I'm sure some of you guys heard of this! I read in an old book about
this stuff, and how it DOUBLED the cell size and cell growth of all kinds of
plants, producing freakish GIANTS. It is supposedly some sort of hormone.
ANyone try any experimenting with it? Why doesn't anyone talk about it
anymore? (It was in an old book from the 60's I think, that I read about it
in). >>
Steve,
Gibberellic acid has the ability to elongate cells. It has been around a
long time. At lower doses it can increase flowering in a pumpkin. Dr. Weaver
was one of the pioneers of Gibberellic acid used on table grapes.....you know
those oblong green, seedless grapes that you eat in the store? They don't grow
that way naturally....they are sprayed with Gibberellic acid when young, the
cells elongate and become seedless. Everyone is so worried about genetically
engineered food.....there's one that everyone has been eating for a long time.
Maybe one of the side effects of eating genetically engineered grapes is an
uncontrollable desire to grow giant pumpkins!
