RE: Anderson 815 surprise

Chris,

I am not at all surprised to see potential squash progeny from your 815.
In my email I said, and I quote, "..it's not all that surprising to see
squash progeny from the 815.".Was I being too vague?

Only those completly uneducated in pumpkin genetics would fail to
recognize the role the green squash has played. The vast majority of
today's top fruit have squash somewhere in their background and
therefore have the potential for producing the same. 'Squash' is not a
four letter word in my vocabulary so please do not take my implying that
your 815 might be producing green fruit as a negative. I for one tried
to locate reliable squash seed stock prior to planting but failed to do
so. I also have your 977 and 634 seed represented in my patches. I
wouldn't do that if I doubted the integrity of your seed.

Squash...pumpkin...it makes no difference to me. I just enjoy growing
and am grateful for the seed you donated.

Good luck at the weighoffs,

Mike
