Bill Greer's 1006 (96) even though it was only the second biggest that
year, did more for promoting giant pumpkin growing than all the ads you
could pay for.
We here in Prince Edward County now have 50 plus growers and our own
Pumpkinfest, complete with weigh-in, parade, contests and fish fry.
Ottawa-St. Lawrence is even mentioning our weigh-in at their weigh-in.
We dont interfere with the GPC dates and some of our growers are even
thinking of taking their pumpkins to Ottaw. I did and tied for 28th
last year. So now I have a 47 inch pumpkin on the vine and am exactly
1 month ahead of where my 506(97) was last year. Lookout Greer,
Anderson and company I'm goin for broke.......Jim Ives
