Re: Brock 1006x941 update

steve-
I was just looking for some seed germination stuff , can't find it
...??? i thought i had read about it somewhere. oh well.
i am wondering if you soaked your seeds to long?
I soaked my seeds for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
here is what worked for me. (after my first tragic failure ... see "my
story" in the archives)
after soaking the seeds I got a white paper towel wet and squezed out
the excess water. folded the paper towel in half and cut it so it would
fit in a zip lock baggy. put the seed inbetween the two halfs of the
paper towel, pushed the air out and zipped the baggy. then put it about
8 inches underneath my desk lamp. the kind that has has an elbow type
joint and can swivel around and move up and down to most any postion.
it has two bulbs - the center one is a 40 watt regular type bulb and the
outside is one is a circular flourecent bulb. you can check to see if
the little root has come out by holding up the baggy in front of a
light. that way you don't have to open it and pull apart the two half
of the paper towel. after you see your root then you get your small pot
ready, i use 4 inch plastic ones. have the all soil in the pot moist
but not super wet. then carefully take out the paper towel and unfold
it. gingerly plant you seed in the soil. then i put a sandwich baggy -
which happens to be the same size as my pot and put it over the top.
then i leave it under the regular bulb. when the seed grows out of the
ground and the seed cover falls off or is helped off when needed, then
i switch to the flourecent bulb. when the first real leaf shows up then
i transplant it outside.
well that was over kill. you probably knew most, if not all of what i
just said.
anyway thought it might help you out some.
good luck.
