Friends,
I have been thinking (finally) about just how I dug myself into this.
It's a very personal matter but one that roles out like this a times
into the bigger world. I am sorry for having sounded as I have and
really do wish flowers of peace to all of those out there who were
offended by my tone of voice. I suffer from an impossible form of
idealism that I expect the world to live up to. I project it into things
I do not completely know and when they inevitably fail to live up to
these impossible demands I go ballistic wondering how they could be so
imperfect. When introduced to the GPC two years ago through Hugh Wiberg
I could not imagine a more perfect organization reflecting every nuance
of value held in me. To bad a red flag doesn't go up on top of ZOO's
head when things appear perfect like this. When Zoo's dillusion finally
breaks down and becomes imperfectly real like everything in this world
the disappointment (I set myself up for) makes me very angry at first.
The GPC is a great organization for doing what it does, holding a great
weighoff. The resolution to this problem of mine has always been to let
this person (or organization as it applies here) to be what it is,
appreciate that, and not to demand that it live up to any other
expectation. I believe I idealized Hugh Wiberg as well and when Hugh
showed himself to be imperfect like the rest of us(and certainly not to
any great degree) I simply did not handle that well. What I have said
are beliefs that are floating around in me, some not completely formed,
some down right misinformed. As you know I tend to speak my mind,
especially when too much caffiene is involved.Overspoke this time.
Flowers to all, especially Hugh and the GPC, please forgive.
ZOO
