George: I have noticed that my 1006 is a very aggressive tape root
producer!!!!!
athough i have not seen 5 tap roots from a single node (most of my nodes are
buried)
But i have noticed three on one , not including the ones that are forming on
the top of the nodes!(which are many) most of the roots are quite large and
the plant is producing them at a very fast rate!! have 3 pumpkins set on the
1006 as of this date!

Had 2 set, cut the second yesterday because of it's position relative to the
first set. The first set is 43.5 in circumference. Going to set a backup in
the next couple of days. My own breed is at 47, with 3 set failures after
that, but with the weather perfect this morning I should get a backup set
today. The others were drowned by heavy rain during pollination.
