Well, I've done what every pumpkin man dreads doing...I pulled up my 2 smaller
plants today. I would have loved to have waited longer, or even kept them in
the patch...But, my garden doesn't afford me that much room, and my dad would
go buck on me if I tore up any more of his lawn. So, I had to do it. This
leaves me with 2 plants...and big plants they are! I went away for a week,
and the kid that was suppposed to watch my patch screwed up with the
pollination, but its not really much of a problem, I see 6 or 7 females that
are gonna be opening in the next few days, so once I get those bad boys set, I
should be in business. I haven't counted, but I'm guessing my two big plants
have a couple hundred leaves each, definitely good enough for some good
pumpkin growin! Well, I'm gonna go back out and give the eulogy to my 2 brave
plants...
