Endless Zoo Doo Antics

I've been thinking about size lately. (No Marv, not in that way). Some
out there know what it's like to lift an 800 pound pumpkin. ZOO's brain
stores many mundane facts and this is one. There was a man that Dick
Gregory helped lose 800 pounds a few decades ago. Pretty amazing right?
Well after he lost 800 lbs. he still weighed 800 pounds! That's
unbelievably true.

In thinking about large things I thought of a small thing. Its called a
quark and is part of the nucleus ofan atom. Enlarge an atom to the size
of Washington where the electron circling the nucleus is the outside
defining border. The nucleus would be the size of a softball. The quark
though would be 1 billionth the size of that softball. Then we already
know that an average brain contains a quadrillion quadrillion atoms.
Except Marv's of course. The quark is a small thing. Marv- that might be
a good name for your pumpkin this year "Quark"

Pumpkins are still growing. 682.4...69 c. and 733...67 c....a few new
ten pounders up and about. Managing some stem problems on the 682.4.
Getting tired of spray for stem borers. Its just this time, when you let
up, that you kick yourself in the butt for later. I had to cut some tap
roots only to notice them leaking like my faucets at home. It seems that
they do this mostly at night. Always some weird thing to analyse with
AGs.

Before I go Joe Mills tells me to tell say that the second mailing for
those subscribing to Southern Pumpkins is nearly on the way. Remember
there are two magazines and two mailings of interesting stuff. He says
stay tuned.

ZOO
