Scott,
Sounds like the pollination didn't take. It wouldn't be surprising
considering those high temperatures. Did you hand pollinate? Did you
keep the female flower cool afterward using ice?
Joe Mills recently published a method for cooling the newly pollinated
flower. It works very well. The night before, fill a couple gallon milk
jugs with water and put them in the freezer. The next morning, hand
pollinated your flower. Afterwards, place the milk jugs around the
flower and drape a wet towel over the top. The combination of ice and
evaporation should be enough to keep the temperature down. It's probably
a good idea to keep the fruit shaded from that point on too.
