This is a common occurrence in the southern latitudes....you hit the nail on
the head. Blossom end rot.
Your best defense is to spray with a fungicide frequently. If your patch gets
rain daily, spray daily. Be sure to spray the under sides of the leaves and
the fruit, as well as drench the soil near your fruit.
Use daconil or bravo, mixing 1 Tblsp per gallon of water.
