Group,
A couple of days ago I discovered what I now
know to be Squash Vine Borers in my patch.
I didn't know right off what they were but found
them on the net yesterday. I knew when I saw
them that they weren't there to help things grow.
I have managed to mash a few of them with my
fingers, just a little personal joy in doing that, I
suppose. How should I treat the plants? There
is no leaf wilt or other note worthy damage that
I can find as of yet. I believe Sevin and Malathion
may be the best defense. They really scamper
across the ground whenever I walk nearby. Is it
just me, or is it just one thing after another?
The other day I told Zoo (after ALL the first fruit
had died) that I was gonna grow these things
come hell or high water! Ironic isn't it, because
today will be the first day it hasn't rained in 8
days (hence the high water thing, I guess).
Please respond.
