Most growers terminate all vines by Aug. 1.....but mostly they want to
reach there perimeter of their choice say 35 ft.......In my opinion a big
rambling plant with big leaves and main doesn't guarantee a big
pumpkin...........I am doing some test pruning with 3 plants at 800-900 sq
ft....vs. 12-1400...............right now my largest pumpkins are on the
smaller plants with small leaves.....average mains....so we will
see.........If your hubby "gots a feeling" that he should cut at 30' and
the pumpkin is in the middle of that,,,,,,,, you have to go with your
intuition.......because he knows the plant and i don't good luck!!!brock
