Happy day

news from Maple Valley, hope for the late starter:

742 Holland:
pollenated my first female this morning, on the main vine, 11ft out, 4
segments. only had one male from the same plant to do the job. used the
Rocky tendril tie up method. the flowers do have a nice smell to them.
-although they give me "hayfever" and I have to take a claritan for it .
the pumpkin stem is almost a perfect 90° from the vine ! yea! vine is
already trained into a nice curve with pumpkin on the outside ! yea !
lots of things look good for this girl. But i am worried about the heat
today. today is going to be our hottest day of the year with the high
project at 90°F. ( heat wave for us). I am going to do some afternoon
misting to help cool the plant. Yesterdays high was 85. Temps have
been over 80 for the last week. - plant growth has taken off
accordingly. counted 12 females on this plant last night, seems they all
showed up at once ( within the last week). This plant has yellow vines
and leaf stems.

761 LaRue:
started this plant quite late in the year, smaller in overall size than
the Holland - was hoping to use males from it for the Holland females.
It almost had a main vine split when it layed over, instead end up with
a small kink. this plant has bigger leaves and vines than the Holland-
but once i have some good sets on the Holland i will have to pull this
plant since i only have room for one plant. the two plant are into each
other already. (makes for nice tendril wars) This plant has green vines
and leaf stems.

a happy day !
